Our shopping, welcoming and London eye experience!

Today I would describe this day as FUN. Right from flag ceremony we went to Cambden market for shopping. Some girls spent a lot, and some girls spent not as much. One store we went to was really cheap! Think of it, for 1 fridge magnet it costed 49p. Isn't that amazing? After we came back from shopping we got into our guiding uniforms, and at 3:00 we went for creamed tea!! For someone like me who personally LOVES food, I thought it was delicious! We also had some kind of cake, and scones with whipped cream and jam. Then Pax lodge did kind of a welcoming a ceremony, where we watched a video all about pax lodge. We also did A scavenger hunt to get to know the Pax lodge building, and discussed what we were going to do for the 5 days for the journey through London. So far the schedule seems pretty fun! After that we went fr supper. We had pork, potatoes, and veggies. For dessert we had apple crumble with hot custard. It was so good!! Then we went to the London eye. It was spectacular. We were 400 and something feet above ground. It was slow but very high, and a wonderful experience. On our way back to Pax lodge, we took a 1 hour tour around the streets of London. We saw the olympic rings on the bridge. It was beautiful! Today was an awesome experience that I will not forget!!

Under the Ocean

Today we said goodbye to France and euros as we boarded the Eurostar. the Eurostar is basically a really fast train that goes under the ocean floor at some point.

While down there, everything was pitch black. It was hard to imagine that we were so far below sea level and not having any physical effects. It was a great experience. If one was asked what they did this morning, most would say, "Sleep in, watch cartoons." I am able to reply, "Oh, you know, went under the ocean floor and such."

We arrived in Kings cross station, and resisted the temptation to ask one of the employes where platform 9 and three quarters was. It would be revealing too much to the muggles.

After that, we got settled in Pax Lodge. Pax Lodge is one of four world guiding centers, located in London, England. It is a really nice building with an interesting color scheme. I also noticed that it is very clean. As for the guiding part of it, there is a New Zealand group staying with us. I look forward to learning about their country and meeting new people.

For dinner we went to a place called giraffes. Contrary to what I thought, they did not serve giraffe meat. Instead we had a delicious meal, from chicken burgers to soup. Afterward we had some gelato at a place next door. I guess we're all so hooked on it now, we can't stop eating it two countries later.

Overall, today was a very interesting day. We switched countries, languages, currency, and atmosphere. It was a great experience and I look forward to exploring London for the next 8 days.

Friday the 13 in tailed a rainy day, all day. over all it was a good day filled with lots of laughs and manny pictures.

Paris!!!

Today was amazing! First we woke up at 5:45(not my favorite part) rushed to the train station and got on the 7:31 train to Paris. The train(TGV) was super fast and sometimes it didn't even feel like we were on a train it was so smooth! There was an eating car and two floors, it was so big! After arriving in Paris we got a bus to our hotel( which is SUPER nice) and were soon on our way to the metro. At first it was scary but mostly because it was new to me. After a long and bumpy ride we soon found ourselves in front of one of the most beautiful and famous cathedrals in the world. Notre Dame was really cool and was very detailed and gorgeous. We met outside by the statue and fed the pigeons! I must be a pigeon whisperer because once I had four on one arm! After that we went to a very old bookstore and that was AWESOME! Soon after we went to a delicious supper of chicken, potatoes, salad and Mousse! Then we went on a very cold but beautiful cruise on the Seine and took amazing pictures of the Eiffel tower! Then, after the cruise we went on the metro and returned to our house for a wonderful and peaceful sleep! By Morgan

What a busy day!

Today was wild! we did lots of things and many outings. Waking up wasn't
that early so that made today a great start. first off was to the perfume factory in Eze. We got a tour of the factory and finished off with the gift shop, where lots of girls bought perfume and soap. Next was to Monaco. this place was beautiful. we walked around the beautiful garden, went next to a palace, and some girls went into the cathedral. Others did a little shopping. Next we came back to Nice, and had a wonderful, calm afternoon on the beach. We stopped at a grocery store on the way, where we bought some snacks since we spent mostly all afternoon there. Even though the beach was rocks not sand, all of us girls had an amazing time! Next was off to dinner. This dinner was probably one of my favorites. We had salad, then the best ravioli i've ever eaten. We walked back to the hotel and had a calm, early night. it was a busy day, but the nice thing was that we weren't on a time limit, so that was relaxing.

The boring bus ride to Nice.

Today we woke up at 9:00 am it was kind of sleeping in but not really. Then we had chocolate pie for breakfast. Then we got on the 40 minute bus ride to pisa we walked for 10 minutes to the tower that is leaning. We took a couple of pictures. After that we went to the baptistry and went up on top of a balcony witch was in the building looking over the rest of the building. Then we went into the cathedral it was REALLY BIG! By the way the leaning tower of pisa was AWESOME. After that we got back in the bus for 4 hours until we got to the hotel in the nice. After that we went to the restaurant and ate supper. When we were done we went to the beach and dipped our toes in the Mediterranean Sea. When we were done we came back to the hotel and slept. THE END!

Todays adventures

We had a early start today....6:15 wake up yaaay. A least we had a lovely breakfast, croissants, pastries and even hot chocolate. We then headed off to the Vatican City museum. We met up with our local tour guide...number 24. She was very passionate about the art work that we saw. We saw sculptures from famous sculptors including Davinci, Michelangelo and Raphael. Number 24 gave us so much history on the art that we saw it was very hard to remember everything that she explained to us. From what i remember there was about 28 different museums. We were only able to experience the beauty of a few. After the 2 hour tour with number 24 we followed Dionysia to the bus to travel to Florence. The 4 hour bus ride to Florence was much more pleasant now that we had our amazing bus driver Tony back. Once we arrived in Florence we had 2 hours of free time to shop, eat and go in the Santa Maria del Fiore. Santa Maria del Fiore was beautiful. The church started to be built in September 1296 according to the plans made by Arnolfo di Cambio. The high ceilings, floor to ceiling painting and stained glass windows combined to make one of the most beautiful churches that we saw. After the free time was over we met up with a local tour guide to have a waling tour of the city. We were brought to many famous sites. Probably the most rememberable was the bridge Ponte Vecchio. This bridge was the only one that was not blown up in the second world war by Hitler simply because of its beauty. After the walking tour we got back on the bus and traveled to our hotel. After dropping our stuff off we headed down to the restaurant to have some supper. On the menu for tonight was pasta, pork, potatoes and of course ice cream for desert. After showering the days sweat off we get to have a nice long sleep.
